Nokia N900: The Linux-Based Smartphone

Nokia N900- The Linux Based Smartphone
It's been the best of times and the worst of times in the Nokia world with the release of the Nokia N900 as it fought back to maintain its presence in the war of the smartphones dominated by the young 'uns like Apple and Google.

Tech enthusiasts regard it as the ultimate pocket computer around which runs on the new Linux-based Maemo 5 OS, rendering it the ability of multi-tasking. The main features of the PR1.2 release include Facebook chat support, video calls with Google Talk and Skype support. And best of all, it enables the newest games and apps from Ovi Store to run on your Nokia N900.

The smartphone wifi enables you to get round- the- clock connectivity as well as allowing full-featured telephony. Moreover the web browser powered by the Mozilla technology allows the same look of any website as on a pc.

According to the smartphone review, the Nokia N900 with its large 3.5-inch touchscreen display, with a WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) and the 3-row QWERTY keypad, along with a GPS receiver with Ovi Maps, an FM transmitter, a 3.5mm audio jack with TV-out function, Bluetooth and DivX/XviD video playback support, stands far ahead in the competition of the smartphones.
