Mobile game fans have reason to be happy after Steve Jobs announcement at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Two high-profile games are on their way to the App Store.

FarmVille, arguably the most popular game on Facebook is getting its own native app on the iPhone. On top of that, those of you who fantasize about being rock stars can look forward to turning your iPhone into a guitar when Guitar Hero comes to the iPhone.

Mark Pincus, CEO of Zynga, announced the iPhone version of FarmVille. FarmVille is a real-time social farm simulator that has than 80 million users. One of out every five Facebook users are play FarmVille. The iPhone version will include all the familiar features of the game, including allowing players to use in-app purchases to get cash and coins to purchase things like seeds, animals, buildings, decorations, and vehicles. iPhone users will be able to start farming on their phones at the end of June-coinciding with FarmVille's one-year anniversary.

Activision's Senior Vice President Karthik Bala announced that Guitar Hero has hit the App Store. It will be a $3 app and is now ready for downloading. Guitar Hero for the iPhone game has classic rock songs by Queen and the Rolling Stones as well as more current rock hits from the Vampire Weekend and Rise Against. High scores can be posted on Facebook.
