HTC Profit Soars, Thanks to Popularity of Android-Based Devices

HTC profits have increased by more than 50% compared to last year, and HTC sales for the first 4 months of 2011 are double than that of 2010. HTC has made a $40 billion profit since May 2010, and the key contributor to the profit is its sale of Android-based devices. The profits of HTC are expected to get even better as Google's Android-based smartphones are set to take over more than half the market by the end of this year.
HTC profits have made it the third largest mobile device company and it has put Nokia behind in terms of sale. Android-based devices have outsold iPhones in most Verizon stores, and a large portion of HTC's profit is coming from the sale of a single device: Thunderbolt. Its tablet Flyer and its new Sensation smartphone have also jacked up its profits.
