Recent study by Blaze Software reveals that Android phones load web pages 52% quicker than iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3. The study aiming at analyzing mobile web performance and discovering new optimization to add to Blaze's core product amassed 45,000 load tests. The inference was reached using Fortune 1,000 websites and Blaze's testing apps WebView and UIWebView with Chrome for Android and Safari for iPhone 4, respectively.
Running the webpage loading tests repetitively over Wi-Fi and 3G wireless connections on the phones, study authors note that the Android phone is faster than the iPhone in loading 84% of the tested websites. Android phones also offer a faster browsing experience four times out of five, unlike the iPhone 4 that is slower. But, the iPhone website loading time picks up by 39% over standard web sites, while Android improves the difference in the loading speed between the two types of sites by 8%. This is still faster than the iPhone.
